Economic impacts of it

People in the high street are being forced out of their jobs because of more and more people buying goods of the internet instead of going down into the town and buying them that way. This means that the shops in the high street are closing down because no one is buying from them. Everyone who used to work in the closed down shops, now have to search for another job. People shopping online is creating jobs for others such as delivery men because they are needed to deliver everything people order.

Even though we are using less paper to write on we are using more paper because we print on paper and then throw it away and sometimes we can recycle the paper to be reuses for newspaper and other thing like cups. But we are communicating more and more via webpages and program which is saving some paper but we are mainly using paper for work and letters

Legal impacts of it


Copyright laws prevent people from copying other peoples work because you can be fined for doing so as it is a law you can be fined up to £5000. Before the internet was around is was harder to copy someone’s work but there was not many copyright laws around as it only applied to a few things that you could copy is music but if you did copy it the quality would be nowhere as near good as the original. Copyright infringement is the use of works protected by copyright law without permission, infringing certain exclusive rights granted to the copyright holder such as the right to reproduce, distribute, display or perform the protected work

Social impacts

We rely on the internet as a primary resource for everything we do rather than we did when we didn’t have the internet. Instead we used to have to go out to a music store to buy music, play board games with the family to play games and to communicate we sent letters to each other. We are spending less and less time being outside socialising like going to the park or going to your friend’s house and then walking around the town. We are spending more and more time inside on our computers because we can communicate though programs like Skype oovoo and some websites like twitter and Facebook. We are sitting more and staying in the same place for longer so your body doesn’t get the exercise that it needs because we are talking to our friend without getting up to see them as it is quicker and easier to do so.

Now it so easy to search things on the internet because you can just get your phone out and connect to 3g and go on Google only takes a few seconds this a good thing if you are out about and just want to research something you can. If we didn’t have smart phone we would have to wait until we got home to use our computers
